She is a graduate of Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law and Bryant College. John H. Geaney, Esq. Mr. Geaney is a shareholder with Capehart & Scatchard, P.A. His practice involves representation of employers, self-insured companies, third-party administrators and insurance carriers in workers’ compensation. He also represents employers with respect to the Americans with Disabilities Act and Family and Medical Leave Act. He is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Workers’ Compensation Law Trial Attorney specialist. Mr. Geaney has published numerous works primarily on workers’ compensation subjects. Additionally, he frequently teaches classes and seminars on the ADA, FMLA and workers’ compensation issues. Mr. Geaney is a member of the American Bar Association, the Burlington County Bar Association, and is on the board of directors for the New Jersey Bar Association. In addition, he serves as president for the National Council of Self-Insurers, is a committee member of the New Jersey Self Insurers Association, and is a member of the National Workers’ Compensation Defense Network. He is a graduate of the Boston College Law School and Holy Cross College. Ian D. Meklinsky, Esq. Ian practices labor and employment law, representing employers across the country in both union and non-union contexts. He works closely with human resource professionals and in-house counsel to navigate the increasingly complex workplace-related rules and regulations mandated by the myriad of laws to provide creative, practical, cost-effective advice and solutions to employment issues. In the unionized area, Ian focuses on: union avoidance/union organizing campaigns; representation proceedings; strikes, mass picketing, and union access disputes; collective bargaining and contract administration; arbitrations; and unfair labor practice proceedings. Ian also counsels and assists employers with respect to, among other things: development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; discipline and discharge of employees as well as employee leave issues; development and administration of Affirmative Action Plans; negotiation, drafting and enforcement of employment and severance agreements; and harassment avoidance and training. Additionally, a significant portion of Ian's practice includes: ensuring compliance through periodic labor and employment-relations audits; and court appearances and administrative hearings on a variety of subjects, including wrongful discharge, employment discrimination, occupational safety and health matters (OSHA), wage and hour disputes, unemployment compensation claims, non-compete, non-disclosure and trade secret disputes. In conjunction with the firm's Tax Department, Ian provides advice with respect to tax implications of employment-related matters and provides extensive counseling and guidance on employee benefits. Ian was a Pupil and now is a Barrister in the New Jersey State Bar Association/Labor & Employment Law Section, the Sidney Reitman Employment Law American Inn of Court, and was the Assistant Coordinator for the Camden County Bar Association for the 1994 New Jersey State Bar Foundation Vincent J. Apruzzese Mock Trial Competition. He lectures frequently to various professional, civic and employer groups. Ian publishes on employment-related topics and is often quoted on these subjects. He is a contributing author to the American Bar Association's treatise on The Fair Labor Standards Act, West Publishing's treatise on Advising Small Businesses, and the ALI-ABA Manual on Advising Clients. Jeffrey D. Newby, Esq. Jeffrey D. Newby, Esquire is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and of Wake Forest University School of Law. Mr. Newby is a member of both the New Jersey and Pennsylvania Bar Associations. As the managing attorney for the New Jersey office, he litigates workers’ compensation matters in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. After graduating from law school, Mr. Newby was a public defender in Montgomery County before joining the Philadelphia law firm of German Gallagher & Murtagh, where he was an associate from 1986 to 1989. In 1989, he became associated with the law offices of Rawle & Henderson. He joined Weber Gallagher Simpson Stapleton Fires & Newby, LLP as an associate in January of 1992 when the firm was founded and became a partner of the firm in January 1995. Mr. Newby is managing partner of the Cherry Hill, New Jersey office. He has argued before the appellate courts in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as federal court. Mr. Newby frequently lectures on workers’ compensation issues and has done so on behalf of the Pennsylvania Defense Institute, SEAK, Lorman Education Services, PESI and has appeared on Law Journal television regarding the polarity of workers’ compensation cases in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. In 2007, he became a Certified Workers' Compensation Law Attorney by the New Jersey Supreme Court. Mark Setaro, Esq. Mr. Setaro devotes his practice to the defense of workers' compensation in New Jersey on behalf of insurance carriers, self-insured entities and third-party administrators. He has concentrated his practice in the field of workers’ compensation since 1987 and is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Workers' Compensation Law Attorney since the creation of this certification. Summers, Esq. Craig W. Summers is a partner of Hill Wallack LLP. He is a member of the firm's Litigation Division and Workers' Compensation Practice Group. He concentrates his practice in the defense of workers’ compensation claims representing major self-insured corporations, insurance companies and clients of third-party administrators. Among his clients, Mr. Summers represents school districts, large box retailers, delivery companies, manufacturing companies and employers in the healthcare industry. He is a member of the New Jersey Self Insurers' Association and has presented numerous seminars to self-insured organizations on a myriad of workers’ compensation issues including notice provisions and authorization of treating personnel. Mr. Summers earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Villanova University (1981), and his Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern University School of Law (1984). During his final year of law school, Mr. Summers clerked for the Presiding Judge of Workers' Compensation for Los Angeles County, California. He is an active member of the New Jersey State and Camden County Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Summers is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Workers' Compensation Law Trial Attorney Specialist. Bryan Varallo, B.S., M.S. Mr. Bryan Varallo, B.S., M.S., Mr. Varallo, who has sixteen years of investigative experience, is a Member of the CAPCON GROUP LLC, a licensed private investigative company in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He and his staff of qualified investigators have extensive experience and knowledge in workers’ compensation and disability claim investigations, criminal/civil litigation support services, surveillance operations and insurance fraud investigations. Mr. Varallo has worked closely with Insurance Companies, Third Party Administrators (TPA’s), Self-Insured’s, Defense Attorneys, and various corporations operating within different industries. He also has extensive knowledge involving the procedures, techniques and responsibilities related to the management of investigative operations with a particular expertise in conducting full-length insurance claim investigations and surveillances. His primary focus continues to be the supervision of fraud investigations and insurance claim’s due diligence reviews.
